The Recreation Department's goal is to provide a wide-range of leisure and athletic programs, as well as bus trips, to Florham Park residents of all ages. We work to offer safe, enjoyable, and affordable services to the entire community. Please share your feedback with us to help us improve our programs.

 The Recreation Department offers activities year-round
for residents of all ages:

Kiddie Klasses

Arts and crafts workshops, cooking classes, and holiday-themed activities are offered seasonally for children in PreK-3 through 2nd grade. Classes may include Me and My Shadow, A Step Up, Creative Cupcake, Fall Arts and Crafts, Gingerbread and Holiday Crafts, Romp N Roll, Paint Explorations, Carpentry, Dress Up Divas, Easter Crafts, St. Patrick's Day Crafts, Mother's Day Crafts, Father's Day Crafts, Cooking Art, and more! Registration forms will be available throughout the year in school packets and at the Community Center.

Bus Trips

The Recreation Department chaperones residents on trips to popular Broadway shows in New York City several times per year. Trips planned for 2009 include: Shrek the Musical, Billy Elliot, 9 to 5, and others. A return trip to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, as well as trips to museums and professional sporting events, may be planned. Call (973) 410-5390 for information, or with your suggestions.

Discount Tickets

Each winter, the Recreation Department sells discounted tickets to the following ski areas: Camelback, Shawnee Mountain, Jack Frost/Big Boulder, Blue Mountain, and Mountain Creek. Each summer, the Recreation Department sells discounted tickets to the following amusement parks: Dorney Park, Mountain Creek, Camelbeach, Hershey Park, Six Flags Great Adventure, Hurricane Harbor, and Sesame Place. Tickets can be purchased at the Community Center by check or money order only. A driver's license is required. Call (973) 410-5390 for prices.

Summer Movie Night

This annual summer event featuring a fun family movie on a jumbo screen will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009, at 8:00 pm, on the Great Lawn at the municipal complex. The movie is free, and open to all residents. Bring your blankets or chairs. Refreshments, including popcorn, will be sold by the Florham Park Jaycees.

Coaching Certification

As a partner of the Rutgers Youth Sports Research Council, the Recreation Department offers S.A.F.E.T.Y. certification clinics for volunteer coaches. Clinics are held at the Florham Park Community Center several times per year, as well as in surrounding towns. Recreation Activities for Disabled Residents

The Recreation Department is a member of the Morris County Adaptive Recreation Program (McARP). It provides recreational services for persons of all ages with disabilities. McARP gives Florham Park residents opportunities to explore new leisure time skills in conjunction with their age and ability.
